Salve volunteers tie-dyed approximately 100 socks in the Center for Community Engagement and Service on Friday, January 21st, 2022. The socks were then washed, dried, and packaged for distribution to friends in need. Distribution took place during the evening meals at the Salvation army later on that same day.
Salve volunteers greeted community members with a smile, engaged in conversation, and ultimately shared some kindness with people throughout the day.
The people were excited to receive a hot drink and warm socks when going to the Salvation Army’s soup kitchen.
Service Advocate, Moira ’24 emphasizes how, “It was a lot of fun to get together with other salve students to tie dye socks for our community.
It was so rewarding to put a smile on people’s faces and boost their spirits especially on such a cold day.” Overall, the MLK event for the Salvation Army was a success!
