To actively recognize Martin Luther King Jr. volunteers served hot chocolate and cookies during the hours of the food pantry at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Service Advocate, Annalese ’24 shares how, “It was so rewarding being able to warm up our community with hot chocolate on one of the coldest days of the winter” thus far. Accordingly, “conversing with the community members and getting to know each other is one of my favorite parts about volunteering.”
Throughout the day additional volunteers took turns meeting people who stopped by
the MLK Center for food pantry services. Groups of volunteers were able to serve hot chocolate and cookies both indoors and outdoors while groups of volunteers helped with additional projects that the Center needed assistance with.
